Last night, the District staff was honored to prepare and serve dinner at the Beacon of Hope men’s shelter.

Good morning and Thursday blessings, As many of you are aware, placement ceremonies took place this week in Fort Wayne and St. Louis. I was present for both and am pleased to report the following new placements in Iowa District West: Pastoral Candidates Trevor Freudenburg (St. Louis) Calvary, Sioux City (Associate) Michael McGinley (Fort Wayne) Christ the King, Spencer Aaron Zimmerman (Fort Wayne) Holy Trinity, Farnhamville/Immanuel, Pomeroy Please keep all of these men, their families and the congregations they have been assigned in your prayers as plans are made for their Ordinations and Installations. Pastor Simon Yiech, Sudanese Lutheran Mission, Des Moines, was able to bring the Gospel into a tragic situation in which a 14-year-old Sudanese boy was fatally shot. Though your situation might not be as tragic, where are the opportunities in your community to bring God’s grace and truth?

Recently a group from Iowa District West went on a mission trip to West Virginia. Pastor Rich Lohmeyer gives his heart felt thanks to the group and those who supported them.
